People outside of Southern California view Los Angeles as being the city of dreams. Those dreams would be to become an actor/actress, model, or famous in other ways. They also think that the streets are filled with famous people. Celebrities do often roam the county enjoying what Los Angeles has to offer but Los Angeles is a large county. A few of the many parts of Los Angeles include East Los Angeles, Downtown Los Angeles, North Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, the Valley, and Chinatown. The chances of meeting a famous person are slim, especially for someone only visiting as a tourist. People living in Los Angeles sometimes do not get to see a celebrity in person their entire lives. There are some locations where spotting a celebrity is more possible but the chances of being there at the same time as them decreases the chances of seeing one. For example, they could most likely be found in Malibu, Beverly Hills, or Calabasas.

 

Even though we do not see famous people often, Angelenos sometimes pretend to others, not living in Los Angeles, that seeing celebrities is no big deal to them because so many live in this county. Some will walk up to them and ask for a picture or autograph but others will not. Still, if one is spotted they will tell their friends about what the celebrity was doing to show off. Often, the celebrity that someone sees is not particularly special to them. It is rare seeing someone with their favorite celebrity without having to pay for a meet and greet or concert tickets.

 

There are many musicians, actors, and other artists around Los Angeles who are still trying to be successful. They are more likely to be seen around more common locations but most people do not know them. People could probably barely recognize the one musician that played at a bar for a couple of months or played in the Santa Monica Promenade or the actor who was in a commercial or was in the background of a movie.

 

Famous people live in Los Angeles but it does not mean that everyone in this county has seen or met at least one in person.
